About the course
Our economy and society is facing major challenges with regard to resources, waste and climate change. A circular economy is seen as a key step towards the future in answering these challenges. In this course you will learn about practical circular economy approaches by meeting experts and practitioners.
The Course "Circular Economy Sessions" is operated by the Anscharcampus and the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation Schleswig-Holstein in cooperation with opencampus.sh and Zero Waste Kiel e.V. and is part of the European INTERREG project "Creative Circular Cities" in which the 6 baltic cities Riga, Tallinn, Turku, Gdynia, Aarhus and Kiel look at possibilities to empower circular change with creative and cultural approaches. The project activities in Kiel are co-funded by the European Union (INTERREG Baltic) and the City of Kiel. More information on the project can be found here: https://interreg-baltic.eu/project/ccc/
In this course participants meet entrepreneurs and stakeholders who are working on various approaches to circular economy. In this way, we learn about the opportunities and challenges on the path to making our society and economy more circular and sustainable on the one hand. And on the other hand participants might have an idea themselves they might get input for. Let yourself be inspired and potentially get working on your own ideas.
Working on your own ideas
People with the idea to start their own project, are thinking about starting up a business or are interested in developing their services towards more circularity will get insight to businessmodels and practices. Cases that might emerge from, or are inspired by this course might later be eligible to participate in a call for funding that is currently planed by the international “Creative Circular Cities” project consortium. More information on this during the course.
Furthermore it might be a chance for participants interested in developing their own circular ideas to take part in the prototyping days and week offered by opencampus, as the prototyping will not be part of this course. During the separate prototyping events there will be counseling on circular aspects offered by us aswell.
